Today's world is increasingly connected, so it's important to look after your security. This is especially true when it comes to banking. So we're introducing HSBC Safeguard to better protect all our customers from fraud and financial crime in Australia and across our global processes and systems.
HSBC Safeguard
Protecting you from fraud and financial crime
Information is key to protection
HSBC processes and systems depend on us having up-to-date customer information. So from time to time we may ask you:
- to update or confirm your personal or business details;
- to provide some new information; and/or
- to provide original or original certified identification documents.
We apologise if this causes some inconvenience but we are trying to keep the maintenance of updating customer information simple and straightforward.
What happens to your data?
The purpose for gathering your up-to-date data is so that our processes and systems can protect our customers and the bank against fraud and financial crime. We take our duty to protect your data very seriously, so all the information you provide HSBC will be subject to HSBC's tough data and security standards. Our intention is only to use the information for your protection and NOT with any third parties for marketing purposes.
What do I need to do next?
For now, you don't need to do anything. We will be contacting customers individually to request when, how and what information they need to provide as an update. Depending on your individual contact preferences, you will receive either an email or a letter.
If you want to know more please call your Relationship Manager or visit a local branch.
